„A picture a day“ is the photoblog of Jule Steffen and Matthias Schmidt, both freelance art directors
(and avocational photographers) living and working in Cologne, Germany.
They are the founders of kikkerbillen and co-founders of metabeta.
On a picture a day Jule and Matthias – besides some sporadic guests – are posting one picture every day for almost 5 years now.

SMBHmag is inviting all photographers living in countries different from where they were born to participate in a new exhibition for the PhotoIreland Festival (Dublin, Ireland, 1 -31 July).
In 2010, the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, which for decades has been the leading art museum in the South, commissioned Lavalette to produce a new collection of photographs for their „Picturing the South“ series, which includes past artists Sally Mann, Emmet Gowin, Richard Misrach, Dawoud Bey, Alex Webb and Alec Soth.
When I began my project, […] I set out not to create any documentary about Southern Music but something more distinctly lyrical, inspired by the music.

Produced over a period of four years, A Temporary Discomfort deals with the idea of a once familiar place becoming unfamiliar and the emotions that are triggered when the place once called home is not recognizable as such anymore after spending a significant amount of time abroad. (mehr …)
