Submissions are free and open to everyone. Currently there is no specific theme we’re looking for. Contributors naturally retain all copyright on submitted materials and will always be credited properly.
Besides features for individual photographers, ACMV also promotes photography festivals, exhibitions, workshops, calls for entries, screenings, awards, talks or other photography events – with a focus on Berlin/Germany but also internationally – on its website and extensive social media network (Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr)!
If you would like to share your photography event with ACMV’s international audience, please send us us your event information for consideration.
For a prominent feature of your photography project, consider advertising your event with ACMV.
Digital Entries / Guidelines
To submit your photographic work for consideration, please email ACMV via hello {at} actualcolorsmayvary {dot} com. Please include the following (preferably all in one zip file):
- 3 – 9 images (sRGB, 72dpi, JPG, max. 900 px wide),
named in the following way: Name_Surname_01.jpg - Series Name
- An artist statement (PDF/Text file) about your artistic approach in general,
or regarding specifically the submitted series – ready to be published along with your images - A short biography (PDF/Text file) – ready to be published along with your images. Please don’t send a list with exhibitions you participated in – we don’t care much about that. Tell us a bit about yourself instead..
- Your website URL (Portfolio / Tumblr / etc.)
- Optional: If important for your series, feel free to include image captions in a separate PDF/Text file
If you would like to share a (rather large) video/music file with us, please simply email us the URL to your work, along with a short description (in case that info is not already provided on the website). Thanks!
Physical Entries / Guidelines
We’re always curious to see what you’ve been working on – especially in printed, deliciously haptic form! Submissions of photography books, (maga)zines etc. will be considered for a feature on ACMV. If you would like to share your print project with us, please send it to this address. Thanks for sharing your work.
