The Independent AIR invites emerging artists using photography and lens based media to apply for a 10 days intense residency | masterclass in Silkeborg, Denmark.

The Independent AIR’s summer residency/masterclass dedicated to young and emerging artists using photography or lens based media. During 10 days we bring together people from all over the world to share, inspire, discuss and challenge the concept of contemporary photography and visual art. This unique program has been running since 2013.
This year eight artists will take part of theresidency/masterclass. Seven young and emergent artists will be selected via an official public Open Call. Furthermore, this year one place in our residency/masterclass program is reserved for outstanding photography student at the Glasgow School of Art, Scotland.
The 2015 confirmed guest artists are Antoine D’Agata, Jacob Aue Sobol and Trine Søndergaard. The founders and directors of Der Greif, Magazine for Photography and Literature will be joining for workshops and lectures.

Apply by sending your submission before the 19th of May 2015 12:00pm (GMT). Please read carefully the terms and conditions before starting your submission. - Contribution fee:
Selected participants are asked to contribute towards the cost of the residency/masterclass with 250€. The price includes all activities, accommodation, food and transportation during the residency/masterclass. - Scholarship:
Selected participants can apply for a scholarship up to 400€ . You should clearly state how the scholarship will be spent (i.e transportation, residency/masterclass costs etc). Please be mindful and apply only for the amount of money you need.
