Electronic music luminaries Kraftwerk will be celebrated at Museum of Modern Art with Kraftwerk-Retrospective 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8, a retrospective performed live on eight consecutive evenings.
Accompanied by 3-D projections, Kraftwerk will play music from each of their albums, as well as reconfigured compositions from their catalogue. The exhibition begins on April 10th with their 1974 debut, Autobahn, with each following evening dedicated to their discography in chronological order: Radio-Activity (1975), Trans-Europe Express (1977), The Man-Machine (1978), Computer World (1981), Techno Pop (1986), The Mix (1991), and Tour de France (2003). Kraftwerk will follow each evening’s album performance with additional compositions from their catalog, all adapted specifically for this exhibition. Tickets ($25.00) will go on sale to the public on February 22nd.
